Quotes:
"Welcome to the wonderful weekend-long life experience known as
Summer Camp for Adults. This is Glastonbury, it's Friday night,
you are here, you have been here most of the day, you are having
a fantastic time. This is your life, this is right now, and I
hope you're there, because I am. Hello and good evening." - Stipe,
introducing the opening "Fall on Me". (Not part of this broadcast)
"You people are real people, I can really tell. I can feel you,
I can hear you, I can smell you, I can taste you. I really, really
like it." - Stipe, prior to "Losing My Religion".
Comments:
This is an edited version of the set that was played at Glastonbury
starting half way through the set. For some reason the first song
played on the encore has been moved to after "She Just Wants
To Be", and then the last three songs before the encore and
broadcast next! If this is how it was broadcast then it's a bit
of a botch-up, as it is obvious listening to the soundtrack that
there are cuts in the broadcast, and it could have been done much
better without detection. However the quality of the recording
is superb, and the show is very colourful, making it a pleasure
to watch, it's just a shame that the whole set could not have
been broadcast.Maybe this was from a re-broadcast or BBCi showing
highlights of the show.
