2 DVD set is basically a "Best Of" the Gabriel-Era, There
are no 8mm or private videos. Instead, it has higher bitrate
video and audio. But depending on the viewer and equipment,
the higher bitrates may not necessarily look or sound better.
This DVD set also includes some alternative sources and techniques,
as often there is no one "perfect" source or way to do something.

Disc One:
March 20, 1972 - Brussels,
Belgium - 30 Minutes
The source for this version of the video is the British
broadcast, thanks to Mark "Parsnips" for his master. I don't
think it has quite the color definition of the more recent
German 3SAT broadcast, but has the major benefit of no distracting
logo in the corner.
Includes Fountain of Salmacis, Twilight
Alehouse, The Musical Box, Return of the Giant Hogweed
February
12, 1974 - Melody TV Special - 30 minutes
The source for this is a true 3rd generation tape and had
a timecode bar at the bottom. This was removed to leave
a less-distracting blur box.
Includes I Know What I Like & Supper's
Ready
April 18, 1972 & February
3, 1974 - Italy B&W - 7 Minutes
The source for these videos is a master Italian RAI tape
thanks to Martin McDonald. Unfortunately, this version includes
both a timecode at the bottom and text at the top, but the
video quality is amazing. Video was desaturated for a true
B&W picture.
Includes parts of Stagnation, misc
live footage, & Interviews

Disc
Two:
January 10, 1973 -
Batalcan, France - 34 Minutes
The source is the recent French TV broadcast which had the
JIMMY logo in the upper right corner, but I blurred it and
it is barely noticable anymore.
Includes parts of The Musical Box, Return
of the Giant Hogweed, Supper's Ready, The Knife, and Interviews
December 20, 1973 - Midnight Special
- 16 Minutes
Excellent source very close to the only recording made of
this broadcast. This version had 4 dropouts where the video
and audio went completely out, but this was removed so only
a short skip is seen. I contacted The Midnight Special in
hopes a master tape could be obtained (as is very often the
case) but the price is simply amazing at $10,000 per minute!
They told me there is a high possibility that a "Best of the
Midnight Special" DVD will be officially released at some
point, but whether Genesis will be on it or not remains to
be seen. More than likely, this 3rd generation source is the
best we will see.
Includes Watcher of the Skies & The
Musical Box
January 22, 1975 - German TV - 10 minutes
The source for this is a rare broadcast tape, not taken from
TV. It used to be available for purchase from the TV station,
but it is no longer offered. In case anyone is wondering why
the video itself is sometimes listed as January 24, it is
because of the billboard in the video advertising the Shrine
performance. However, the live video is actually from Berkeley
two nights earlier. I promised not to say exactly how I know
this is the case, but suffice it to say that am convinced
it is in fact Berkeley.
Includes short clips of The Slipperman,
In The Cage, and The Musical Box.
