Filmed in London just hours after the resignation of Margaret
Thatcher -an event Harper was bound to mention, much of which
is cut here, from an excellently shot and recorded concert.
Taken from an official release VHS now deleted.
"My first venture into video after two decades of making
albums was always going to contain a few favourites. The philosophical
edge that is one of the features of this collection is perhaps
a sign of the times. 'One Man Rock and Roll Band' was written
during the Vietnam crisis and I always hope that it will not
be necessary to continue to write anti-war songs. Then up
springs another dictator and millions of dreams bite the dust.
I cannot see 'The Black Cloud Of Islam' being given any air
time into the foreseeable future for obvious reasons. Finally,
fifty-plus people helped in the making of this video, I should
like to extend to them my heartiest thanks." Roy Harper
