Tangerine Dream
Paris Palais du Sport, France
22/11/1976

My favourite recording of TT3, an audience master tape which will delight everyone who likes the music of Nottingham 1976 (TT1, Vol. 1) Although the sound quality doesn't quite match that of Nottingham it's still an extremely good sounding recording, and musically it's definitely on par with it. Some music sounds familiar, but for the most part it is completely different to Nottingham (especially the whole of Disc 2).

What I like on Paris 76 is the variety, ranging from soft piano and mellotron passages to music which is a total freakout (with Peter Baumann screaming like as if he is possessed, and Edgar Froese playing guitar like a mad axeman :-) Maybe the best track is the first one on Disc 2, a beautiful improvisation which lasts for nearly 38 minutes, and which could go on forever. The piece starts with an announcement by Peter Baumann, and I would be glad if someone could let me know what exactly he was saying (something like "Schönen guten Abend. We now want to play a song "....." It's inspired by "...." and "....". I hope you enjoy it"?!) The first encore has some serious tape speed and sound problems in between, but the rest is excellent. This release will (hopefully) replace "Keepers of dreams" and "Paris 76".
