NBC's
Tsunami Aid - A Concert Of Hope
Last night (15th January) saw former Pink Floyd frontman Roger
Waters performing a wonderful melancolic version of "Wish You
Were Here" acoustically with Eric Clapton, with the help of backing
singers Katie Kissoon, Carol Kenyon and PP Arnold, as part of
NBC's charity gala, Tsunami Aid: A Concert Of Hope. Some screen
shots from the performance are shown below...
The performance, which was not shown live, having been pre-recorded
at the NBC studio in New York City, featured Roger and Eric sat
on stools, playing acoustic guitars, with the lyric delivered
in a quiet and almost mournful style which suited the occasion
perfectly. Eric chose to simply play guitar, and the subtle backing
vocal of Katie, Carol, and PP, complemented the respectful reading
of the Floyd classic.
Donations can still be made to the charity supported by the show
- The American Red Cross,
or alternatively, you can make a donation to the Disasters
Emergency Committee who share all contributions around twelve
different charities, ensuring each has the right funding at the
right time. Funds raised through the show will support the American
Red Cross two-phased assistance plan which includes specialized
relief immediately and over the long term in the following areas:
food and safe water; healthcare and disease prevention; immediate
family supplies; mental health counselling; disaster preparedness
and prevention measures.

New version on VCD, thanks to Nick Farey, which now plays
better than above. The only difference is that the VCD version
does not include Hugh Grant introducing the performance.
