It
is a wonder that this DVD exists at all!. This was a
"normal" performance without Nick Mason, but historical
nice because it was performed during a full Moon and
the security was insane there. It had been reported
that because the security was very sharp, no complete
recordings (video) were possible.
One trader said, "I sneaked my digi cam onto the
festival, unfortunately after the first 10 minutes the
security caught me and took away my tape. (of course
I had other tapes with me) but the guys were very good
trained to catch video tapers. I saw several cam's been
taking away and one guy kept coming to my place every
10 minutes I didn't try again, for I was sure they would
kick me off the field!"
This is a 2 camera mix with some footage being taken
near the front of the stage, but mostly this is filmed
from a distance to the left of the stage. However it
must be a very good camera because the closeups are
really good. The closeups are not quite as close as
the Cork DVD, but with this Arrow Rock Festival there
is very little of people getting in the way, though
the guy filming from near the front was having difficulty
getting clear shots. All in all considering the security
this is an excellent recording with some special effects
thrown in to add to the viewing pleasure.
Note: This DVD is best viewed on a small screen,
as I found that playing this on a large screen, the
picture is quite grainy. It looked great when played
on my laptop, but the definition is lacking when played
on a large TV.
