Fame is rare. Roger Waters, one of the creators of the powerful
and influential symphonic-psychedelic rock band Pink Floyd, a
massive cult group, responsible for works like The Wall and the
Dark Side of the Moon, arrived yesterday at the airport in Ezeiza,
where fans waiting for them. He signed autographs for his gathered
fans and soon crossed the Arrivals hall surrounded by black bodyguards,
causing more than one person to ask the question: "this type,
who is he?" Nobody had recognized him. Waters, British singer,
aged 57, arrived at Argentina to play at 20.30hrs those songs
today that will make hairs stand up on the skin of those who go
to the stage of Vélez. Eternal songs as "Wish You Were Here",
a subject that could only be created by a British writer.
The band consists of nine musicians, among them the guitarist
Andy Fairweather Low, who makes us forget David Gilmour, and a
son of Waters, Harry, on keyboards. The singers are Patricia Arnold
Morris, Pretty Lewis and Kathleen Kisson. The band is completed
with Graham Broad (bateria), Harold Kamen, White Terence, Norbert
Stachel (saxo) and Andrew Wallace (keyboards). Roger presents
an unknown song, "Each small candle". His thousands of followers
will request to him tonight that that candle is not extinguished,
and keeps shining, as its crazy diamond does.
