Pink Floyd
"Get To Know"
Randwick Racecourse, Sydney, Australia
15th August 1971 [Pro-shot DVD]

Screenshots from the DVD

Get To Know (Australian TV) Pink Floyd's only visit to Australia in the 70s, consisting of just two shows, was captured on film ar their second show at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney. The extract in cirulation was shot in daylight and features >>Careful With That Axe, Eugene<< with music dubbed from "Ummagumma". A pre-recorded band-interview was also shown at the time of broadcast but remains in the vaults.

Comments from Yeeshkul Forum:
I don`t see anyone else commenting on this, but I think it should be pointed out that the audio on the two live clips is dubbed on from "Ummagumma" and "A Saucerful Of Secrets" respectively. - Dallasman
The reason why is that the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) was allowed to either record video or audio material of the Sydney Randwick Racecourse concert. They chose the visuals, thus added the audio from the live Ummagumma LP. - mev70

Also, it is the complete broadcast. The GTK (Get To Know) program was only ever about 10 minutes long, and featured a different band for every programme. The interview segment is one of the very few times the 4 members of the band were interviewed together.

This really is a very nice video - sound is superb; video slightly less so, but definitely a real must have. I was so chuffed when I first got a copy of this. If an upgrade is out there it sure would be great to see it shared here! - beechwoods
