This
is the Robert Wyatt benefit concert, supported by Soft Machine.
The concerts raised £10,000 in aid of Robert Wyatt who
after an accident was now confined to a wheelchair. Tickets
for these shows were advertised only one week before the performance,
and they were by personal application only. I took a train
to London, some 150 miles to join the queue at 3am. I saw
the first performance at 5pm, I did record the show but the
quality is not very good.
This is the best sounding RoIO among the circulating ones
of the late performance at the Rainbow Theatre. I cannot understand
why Obscured By Clouds is split into 2 tracks here, the tracks
play seamlessly.
Release: PYCD 053 - Triangle Records. Less hissy than others,
still some distortions. |
