(Benefit for "War on Want") Re-mastered

21st Oct 1972

This is the re-mastered version of the unprocessed recording from a nice second generation cassette.

I won't go into the story of the 2 sources cause I really can't tell for sure, the pieces or recording more included here (like on "A Benefit For War On Want" ) could be from a different source but sounds very similar to all the rest.

This is a superb show with a really fine performance of The Dark Side Of The Moon. The Announcement before One Of These Days, mentions the charities benefiting from this show including "War On Want". Finally the performance of Set the Controls is excellent, and the show concludes with a superb Blues as the encore.

Both discs have been re-indexed as the tune-ups between some of the songs was indexed incorrectly. Echoes has been joined together seamlessly (you cannot hear the join - and the 29 seconds of silence is better removed!), Eclipse fades out rather than a sudden ending, and finally several gaps have been repaired. All in all, much better now to listen to than before with the hiss also reduced, as it was far too hissy before. Now the music stands out much clearer, without any detection of artifacts.
