Pink Floyd
Mont de L'Enclus, Amougies, Belgium
'Amougies Pop & Jazz Festival'
25th Oct 1969 (Complete Audience Recording)

The Actuel Festival was held at Mont de I'Enclus in Amougies, Belgium. It was going to be the first ever rock festival in France, but the promoters couldn't get a licence, so they tried another place in France and then finally ended up in Belgium. Pink Floyd played a couple of songs Set the Controls and Green is the Colour / Careful with that axe Eugene. They also played Interstellar Overdrive, but I have not got a recording of that yet.

In Society Pages USA #2, Zappa stated unequivocally that he did not play onstage with Pink Floyd. Then two issues later, they turned up a photo of the jam, showing FZ ca. 1969 onstage with a guy who is identifiably Nick Mason and another guy with a P-Bass whose face isn't visible but whose hunched posture is that of Roger Waters.

Complete audience recording at last, and a genuine one! Amazing how this surfaced after almost 40 years!
The recording is very low-fi but perfectly enjoyable, a must! This version is sourced from a safety copy of the original masters.

notes as they came with the files:
FESTIVAL ACTUEL, AMOUGIES (Belgium) Day Two - October 25, 1969
source: audience recording Our Amougies series continues with probably the most anticipated performance of all - Pink Floyd's. Of course, the version of "Interstellar Overdrive" with Frank Zappa, long presumed lost, will now be familiar to most, but I'm sure this complete set will be of high interest to Floyd fans. As previously stated, the taper (JJB) didn't record everything, but when he did, he generally recorded complete sets. There are obvious issues with the sound quality. Firstly, the tape recorder used was way below modern standards and the sound is nowhere near "professional" standards. Secondly, in order to save on batteries, the taper occasionally turned the recorder off between songs, resulting in a few truncated introductions. These reservations aside, however, this is simply an unbelievable document of a legendary festival, and so our hearfelt thanks to the taper for recording this at the time, and for allowing me to seed it here. I did my best to document setlists and line-ups but some information is still missing. Please help if you can.
