This
is a very interesting early performance, taken from the Master tapes.
There is an early performance of Careful with that axe Eugene
and later in the show they play quite a long and unusual Green
is the Colour with some very nice acoustic guitar work. This
recording is very rare especially as the quality is very nice and
clear, which is unusual for such an early recording. Most audience
recordings from 1969 and earlier are quite inferior quality. There
are an occasional place where the quality does suffer, possibly
because of the tape being creased at this point, especially at the
beginning of Saucerful of Secrets. This show however does have an
amazing version of Interstellar Overdrive, I find it quite fascinating
how this piece of music can vary so much, it is for this reason
that makes collecting different shows so worthwhile especially during
the period 1968-71.
This was also one of those occasions where they actually played
2 shows on the same date, as they had already played at Parliment
Hill Fields, Hampstead earlier that day.
